COVID-19 TestingDear Flushing House Residents & Families,
In order to best serve our community, Flushing House will be conducting communitywide COVID-19 testing beginning on Thursday, May 28 at 10 AM. Testing will be conducted inside the residents’ apartments, there is no need to leave your room. We will go door to door beginning on the 2nd floor. We estimate it should take us approximately 30 minutes per floor.
Please have your insurance card handy on Thursday, it is necessary for testing and will cover the lab work portion of the test. Flushing House has negotiated the costs of administering the tests down to $40 per resident. This one-time fee will be added to your monthly rent statement.
Testing data will help us develop a full picture of the epidemiology and course of this disease. The data can provide important puzzle pieces for stopping or slowing the disease in the future. Accurate data is important to keeping our community safe for our residents.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 by a viral test, know what protective steps to take if you are sick or caring for someone.
- If you test negative for COVID-19 by a viral test, you are not infected at the time your sample was collected. However, that does not mean you will not get sick. The test result only means that you did not have COVID-19 at the time of testing.
- If you test positive or negative for COVID-19, you still should take preventive measures to protect yourself and others.
For your safety and the safety of others, please continue to practice social distancing. Wear your mask if you will be coming in close proximity with another person, even if it is just to receive a food delivery.
Thank you for your cooperation,
David Barr
