    On Saturday, March 2nd Flushing House hosted an Open House showcasing their independent living community with supportive services on site. Despite the falling snow over 50 guests from all over New York City gathered in the beautiful rooftop solarium.

    March 2nd  Open House at 2 PM

    Join us  on the  rooftop at Flushing House for an information session with Flushing House Vice President, Nancy Rojas. The information session will be followed by a guided visit of our community featuring model apartments, movie theater, salon and dining room.

    Residents Share Holiday Spirit with Local Children

    On December 8th, the 1st and 2nd Graders at PS 214 paid a visit to the residents of Flushing House to celebrate the holiday season with Santa Claus and his elves in the early afternoon. The children and residents had the chance to take photos with Santa and his ‘senior’ elves before getting a special treat to take home.

    Giving Tuesday

    Consider making a tax-deductible donation to United Adult Ministries and Flushing House this  Giving Tuesday. The George Nussbaum Find was created for this reason, to help others. The George Nussbaum Fund was established as a special endowment to support residents in financial need. It is named after George Nussbaum, chairman of the board of Flushing House since it opened in 1975, until he passed away on March 19, 2004.

    Elder Abuse, A Multidisciplinary Teams Approach
    Discussion, Solutions And Access To Services

    The Queens Interagency Council On Aging (QICA) in partnership with the Office of The Queens District Attorney will hold its monthly community program on Wednesday, December 5th from 9:00am to 11:00am at Queens Borough Hall, room 213, 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, NY. Registration starts at 9:00am served with a Continental breakfast. The program begins promptly at 9:30am.
