Recently Flushing House hosted a rooftop dining experience for the Flushing & Howard Beach Rotary Clubs. Rotarians made the trip to Flushing House to hold their regular meeting in order to develop friendships as opportunities for service. The purpose of these Rotary Clubs is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. Currently there are over 1.2 million Rotarians around the world. The Rotarian’s primary motto is “Service Above Self”; its secondary motto is “One profits most who serves best.” Built in 1974, Flushing House is the largest not-for-profit retirement community in New York State, and one of the first to offer older adults “Independent Living” along with supportive services on premises.  The address of Flushing House is: 38-20 Bowne Street, Flushing, NY 11354.
